Kairo ("Kairo", "KairoAI", "we", "us") is a K-12 learning-intelligence platform used by teachers, students, parents, and school administrators. This policy explains what information the Kairo mobile app and services collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Schools are in control. Kairo is provided to students and parents through their school. The school is the primary controller of student data and Kairo processes that data on the school's behalf to deliver learning insights. We do not sell personal data and we do not show third-party advertising.
Kairo uses artificial intelligence to grade work, generate practice questions, and run the AI Tutor. To do this, relevant content (such as a submitted answer, a photo of written work, or a tutor message) is sent to trusted AI processing providers acting on our instructions. This content is used only to generate the response for that student and is not used to show advertising.
We share information only as needed to run the service:

Kairo is designed for use in schools, including by students under the age of 13. Student accounts are created and authorised by the school, and use of Kairo by a child is subject to the consent obtained by the school from the parent or guardian. We collect from children only the information needed to provide the educational service, and we do not use it for advertising or to build advertising profiles. Parents and schools may request access to, or deletion of, a student's data as described below.
We retain personal data for as long as the account is active and the school uses Kairo, and as needed to provide the service. When a school ends its use of Kairo, or upon a valid deletion request, we delete or de-identify the associated personal data within a reasonable period, unless retention is required by law.
We protect data with encryption in transit, access controls, and tenant isolation so each school's data is kept separate. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address issues.
